This weekend we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity. It is challenging to wrap our heads around this concept, let alone explain it because as humans we are trying to put something divine into human terms. In my reflection this week, something that was on my heart:

Every Mass we begin with the priest greeting us saying, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” It is something we hear so regularly; we may not take the time to pause and realize what is being said to us. The Most Holy Trinity is explained to us as three persons in one divine God in this greeting. We acknowledge, welcome and desire God to dwell within us and those around us through this greeting too. We begin Mass with the longing for the Spirit of Truth to be poured into our hearts so that we can not only worship, but experience God in this world in all that we do. What can we do with what has been poured into our hearts? It is important to remember that God loves us unconditionally that He is always within us, no matter what we choose. He desires us to recognize His divine love so we can transform the world around us. What if we all internalized and believed that the Spirit of Truth is poured into us every day? What would things around us look like? Probably not a world torn by violence, conflict, and despair. How can we arise each day and know that God is within us, around us, and all that we encounter?
