Children’s Liturgy of The Word is an opportunity for children, from ages about 4 years to 4th grade, to hear God’s Word proclaimed for them from the Children’s Lectionary and hear a reflection that they can understand at their level. Children will be called up after the Collect, and return for the Offering.
Leader: This person will facilitate the Liturgy for the children by leading a discussion, prayers, and readings. These individuals, confirmed high schoolers or *adults, will receive training and materials so they can prepare in advance.
Helpers: Helpers are middle schoolers up to *adults. They will assist the Leader as needed and help in managing the participation of children.
Note: Volunteers do not need to attend a separate Mass, as they are still receiving God’s Word and will return for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
*Adults must take the Virtus: Protecting God’s Children class and pass background checks before volunteering with children.
