Third Sunday of Advent

Dear Friends in Christ,

Youth Ministry Update
Last week Stephen Baker concluded his time as the Coordinator of Youth Ministry for St. Pius X Parish. We thank him for the work he has done in Youth Ministry and helping our teens grow in their relationship with Jesus. While this transition is underway, I am confident that our youth ministry programs will continue to be a way for your teens to encounter Jesus in their lives and continue to grow in their faith.

As we begin the search for a new Coordinator of Youth Ministry, a committee of dedicated individuals will step in to oversee the youth ministry program for the next few months, ensuring that all upcoming events and activities proceed smoothly. If you have any questions or requests related to youth ministry, please don’t hesitate to contact Elizabeth epost@spxcatholic.org.

Christmas!
As we prepare to celebrate the joy of Christmas, I want to share some important updates and reminders about our Christmas Masses at St. Pius X.
First, for the Children’s Christmas Mass at 4:30pm, we will not be using straw as part of the decorations this year. We know many enjoy the symbolism and tradition of the straw-filled manger, but to keep things simple in our temporary worship space, we will be omitting straw this year. Similarly, at the 10:30pm Christmas Eve Mass, there will be no candles used during the liturgy. Thank you for your understanding as we adjust for this unique year of celebrating Masses in Danner Hall.

Speaking of the 4:30pm Children’s Mass, this is always our most crowded Mass, and we expect a full house again this year. If you are able, we ask that you consider attending one of the other Christmas Masses to help “make room at the inn” for families and visitors. For those who attend, additional chairs will be set up in the Danner Hall corridor to help accommodate the crowd. Please note, however, that there will be no sound or video available in the hallway.

Here is the full Christmas Mass schedule for St. Pius X:

  • Christmas Eve: 4:30pm, 7:30pm, and 10:30pm (incense at all
    Masses)
  • Christmas Day: 9:30am (no incense)

I hope these details help you and your family plan how you can best celebrate Christmas with us at St. Pius X.
In Christ’s Love and Friendship
