Thank you! Renovation Completion

Dear Friends in Christ,
What a joyful time for us at St. Pius X! As we celebrate the completion of our
sanctuary renovation, I want to take a moment to express my appreciation to
those who made this project a success:
- A huge thank you to our staff, who have worked incredibly hard these past
few months. Without access to Danner Hall, we faced space limitations that
affected every ministry and event. But they were all super flexible and we
made it work—thank you for your patience and perseverance as we
navigated this project! - I also want to express my sincere thanks to Fr. Chris Rouech, who served as
pastor before me. It was his vision and leadership that laid the groundwork
for this beautiful renovation. - Thank you as well to all of our parishioners who served on the sanctuary,
marketing, and art & beauty committees. There is simply no way I could
have done this without your support, so thank you! - We are especially grateful to Bishop Walkowiak for last Saturday’s
Dedication Mass. It was such a powerful and beautiful liturgy. I’m so
thankful to Cheryl Emmette for her careful planning and organization—it’s
no small task to coordinate such a significant liturgy; especially one as
uncommon as a Mass that dedicates an altar. It all went so smoothly
because of her hard work. - Thanks also to Katie Parker and our Community Commission, who helped
prepare an awesome reception. Bishop Walkowiak even quipped afterward
that not only was the Mass beautiful but that he “also really enjoyed the
food.” Praise Jesus! - And of course, our music ministry continues to shine. Thank you to
Meghan Schaut and the choir for your amazing work and beautiful music. - A special thanks goes to David Paquet, a fellow parishioner who served as
project manager with Wolverine Construction. He and Mike Bilski, the site
superintendent, were outstanding—easy to communicate with and always
on top of the job. Thank you both! - We also owe a great deal of thanks to our architect, Ben Luther. His
knowledge of Catholic liturgy and architecture was a huge asset throughout
this entire process. - And finally, thank you to all of you, the parishioners of St. Pius X. Your
prayers, sacrificial gifts, and constant support made this project possible.
God is so good, and I am so pleased with how this project turned out.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
As we return to the church, our chapel will now be open again for private
prayer. The chapel will be open Monday–Thursday from 7:00am–7:00pm and
Fridays from 7:00am–5:00pm.
Thank you again for everything. I’m so grateful to be pastor at St. Pius X.
In Christ’s Love and Friendship,
Fr. Stephen Durkee
