Welcome! Which group is a fit for you?
Youth Choir
For 3rd through 12 graders. Led by Music Director Meghan Schaut and singer/music educator, Jamie Purkovic. This is an awesome way for our youth to serve and sing together across age groups in Music Ministry.
Fall Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 5-6pm. For more info or to sign up, contact Meghan at mschaut@spxcatholic.org.
Guitar Group
We are excited to expand this group during the 2025-2026 season!
This group sings for the 5:30pm Saturday Masses, with rehearsals at 4:30pm. Instrumentalists and vocalists welcome! Music reading (or chord reading), instrument proficiency, and experience playing/singing in groups is helpful.
Chamber Choir
Auditions required for this group–please contact Meghan for more info at mschaut@spxcatholic.org.
Ages High school through Adult. Group members have strong vocal technique and extensive choral experience. Many members have studied music or theater in high school and college. Strong note-reading and sightreading skills are required as we move quickly through new music.
Rehearsals are Wednesday nights, September through May. Chamber Choir sings for the 10:30am Mass twice a month, and at all Feast Days.
This group is focused, disciplined, and a lot of fun. They sing a variety of repertoire including classical choral works, contemporary cantatas, praise and worship music, all styles of weekend church music, a cappella, and more. Auditions are required as we have limited physical space in the choir area, and we want to be sure that new voices coming in will work well with the current group.
Resurrection Choir
This wonderful group sings for funerals, which are typically at 11am. They meet 30 minutes before each funeral to rehearse. No auditions are required, and while there is plenty of training in the group, it’s more relaxed and focused on the ministry of supporting our grieving families with our presence, prayers, and song. This group has grown a lot, and more singers are always welcome! People who are available in the mornings have enjoyed coming together and growing in community and friendship. Many choose to stay for the funeral luncheons to socialize. The group includes several retired choir members, as well as others who sing purely for the joy of serving in song. Contact Meghan at mschaut@spxcatholic.org to be on our email list.
