2nd Sunday of Lent

In this weekend’s Gospel, we hear about the Transfiguration of Christ before Peter, James and John. I imagine what this was like: they are exhausted after another day of ministry and struggling to focus and Jesus asks one more thing…stay awake and come with me up the mountain. They do and they witness something amazing and don’t want to leave. In true Peter fashion, he misses the mark in his response, but Jesus has patience.
If you think about it…this is us! How often do we feel like we are too tired for Him? We know that we should show up for the Lord. Sometimes we do so reluctantly, but if we are fortunate, we experience something amazing. In that bliss we want it to continue, missing what Jesus is calling us to do: go out and evangelize.
Do we see Christ around us in our everyday encounters? Do we give him our time or are we too tired? Do we share the Good News and our experiences with others? This week may this be our challenge: see Him in our everyday, show up for Him, and share Him with all we meet.
