4th Sunday of Lent

As our Elect continue with their second scrutiny, we are asked to accompany them on this journey. This weekend we hear of Jesus healing a person born blind. As you reflect on this Gospel, consider the following questions:

  • What do you like to hide from people? What are you hiding in that darkness? What are you ashamed of? Invite God to shine light and heal those wounds.
  • Where is there darkness in the world that does not know God? Who do you know personally who has turned away from God? How can you be His light to them?
  • Who do you judge and struggle to see their goodness? Remember that they are a child of God and created in His image. How can you accept them for their belovedness this week?
  • How do you see God working in your life? Do you see Him around you in your daily interactions or are you blind to His presence in your life? How can you notice your blindness and ask Him to help you to see?

In the remaining weeks of Lent, we are challenged to see our blindness. Do we invite God into those dark places and ask for healing or do we turn away from Him and ignore our blindness? May our remaining weeks of Lent be fruitful and cleansed of spiritual blindness.
