Walking Together

Our first reading from Sircah tells us that the Lord hears the cries of the suffering. We all have been here.
If you are hurting and/or supporting someone through a difficult time, you are not alone. As a people, we get pretty good at hiding our pain and troubles. But we shouldn’t fear asking for help, especially from God. The Lord truly does hear all the cries of His people. It is a beautiful image in Sirach 35:21, “The prayer of the lowly pierces the clouds; it does not rest till it reaches its goal, nor will it withdraw till the Most High responds, judges justly, and affirms the right.”
As Christians, followers of Christ, we are called to minister to the suffering. This is in part how God answers prayers, relieves and gives purpose to our sufferings (and His). When we attend to the spiritual and physical needs of others, aka The Works of Mercy (love in action), we increase both our faith and their faith, we demonstrate who God is: Love.
Let us comfort and walk alongside each other as we live out our faith and grow closer to our Savior. PLEASE, contact any of the staff or volunteers here at SPX. We are family and are here to walk with you in both your joys and suffering.
