8th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Lent starts on Wednesday!?!
The readings for Sunday prepare us for Lent, which can you believe, starts on Wednesday! Jesus encourages us to be respectable disciples. If you go to church, profess God as your Savior, or wear a crucifix around your neck that means something. You are representing God, and you get to be a reflection of His loving goodness, kindness, and forgiveness.
Lent is a time to shake the sieve of your life: sift out what is blocking others from seeing instead of leading them to the light of Christ. Jesus tells us that our words, our actions, and our choices can produce goodness or… the opposite.
Removing these beams through Prayer, Fasting, & Almsgiving and taking advantage of the gift of Reconciliation are great opportunities to show God, and others, your love and commitment to Him as you recognize His loving sacrifices for you.
