Fr. Stephen’s Bulletin Column Feb. 27

Dear Friends in Christ,

Hallow

For almost two years, I have been using the app Hallow.  It is a Catholic app designed to help engage the faith through prayer and education.  The app has easy access to Fr. Mike Schmitz’s Bible in a Year.  It also includes Bishop Barron’s homilies and other priests’ homilies as well.  Additionally, one can pray the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, or listen to a guided meditation on growing in trust, surrender anxieties to God, or find peace in one’s heart to name a few.

Suffice it to say it is a wonderful app.  Starting this Lent, we will be offering it to parishioners in the parish. This includes the #Pray40 Challenge featuring daily Lenten mediations on Jesus’ Last Seven Words from His Cross.

Hallow is the #1 Catholic app worldwide and includes over 3,000 audio-guided sessions designed to help you grow closer to God. Hallow Plus includes prayers in Spanish, prayers for kids and families, resources to help you learn about the faith, and more.  You can download the app from this landing page: hallow.com/holydaypackage.  A normal adult subscription to the Hallow app costs $60 a year, but we are able to offer it to parishioners of St. Pius X free of charge.

St. Pius X Penance Service

Save the date for our parish penance service on Tuesday, March 8.  This is the penance service for the Crossroads parishes.  There will be several priests here for individual confession after an “Examination of

Conscience” is read for us to prayerfully reflect upon.

Please note: Daily Mass on Tuesday, March 8will move from 9am to 5:45pm.  Holy Redeemer usually has Mass in the evenings on Tuesday.  Fr. Colin and I wanted to ensure that parishioners from Holy Redeemer will come here for the penance service.  Moving our Mass makes the penance service more available to our friends at our neighboring parish; Holy Redeemer will advertise that their evening Mass will be at

St. Pius X.  Feel free to join us for Mass and to stay for the penance service afterward.

I hope and pray that your Lenten journey allows for you to grow closer to the Lord, and experience his mercy, love, and friendship in a

powerful way.

In Christ’s love and friendship,

Fr. Stephen
