New Business Manager & Sanctuary Update

Dear Friends in Christ,

I am super thankful for your incredible response to the needs of our food pantry. Your generosity has made a significant impact on families in need in the Grandville-Wyoming area. Just a reminder, the food pantry is something we service all year, so as you are able, please continue to keep our pantry in mind on a regular basis. With your help, we can ensure that it stays well-stocked for those who rely on it; especially around the holidays.

I am also excited to announce a new partnership between our parish and Hallow, a wonderful Catholic app designed to help you grow in your prayer life. Hallow offers a wealth of Christian content, including prayer resources, Catholic music, and teachings from notable figures like Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavins, and Bishop Barron. Whatโ€™s new with the app is a Catholic social media platform where you can connect with fellow parishioners and encourage one another in faith. Typically, Hallow costs $60 annually, but as a St. Pius X parishioner, you can access all of its content for only $1. We will have instructions available if you need help unlocking this special offer.

In terms of our capital campaign, I am happy to report that construction documents are now complete! We hope to receive RFPs (Requests for Proposals) from construction companies before the end of September. If everything goes as planned, we should have our contractor selected by early October, and then it will be full speed ahead. I still anticipate that our sanctuary project will begin in late fall (around the end of November) or early January, depending on how things come together.

Lastly, I am thrilled to introduce Shelley Graham as our next business manager. Shelley brings a wealth of experience in HR and accounting, and she is excited to begin working with us. Please join me in welcoming her to our parish team. Her first day will be Monday, September 23. At the same time, I want to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to Marilyn.  Marilyn has been a tremendous blessing to our parish, and we are so thankful for her years of dedicated service. While she is stepping down from her role, Iโ€™m happy that she will remain a parishioner, ๐Ÿ˜Š so we will still see her around the parish โ€“ just not as an employee! However, as I reminded her, we have many ways that she can volunteer. ๐Ÿ˜‰

In Christ’s Love and Friendship,
