Prayers for a Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Dear all,

Request for prayers

Recently, we re-posted the job for the Coordinator of Youth Ministry at our parish. Our need for a youth minister is great. Unfortunately, this position on our staff remains empty. I was convicted recently that we need to be praying more in a public way for God to send us the right person. I would like to invite all parishioners to include the following prayer in your daily prayers. Jesus himself encourages us to pray when we have a pastoral need, Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Matthew 9:38).

Loving Father, you created the human race, know each one of us by name, and provide for all our needs. Through Christ you have chosen us to be your sons and daughters, and to build up your Kingdom on earth. We ask you to move the heart of the individual you are calling to be our next coordinator of youth ministry. May that person be inspired to share talents with others, and know the joy of sharing the Gospel with young people. Give us patience while you open doors and wisdom to see your will. Never let stress diminish our love for each other. With trust we make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fr. Mel Fox

Some of you may be wondering what happened to Fr. Mel. In retirement, Fr. Mel has been a parishioner of St. Pius X. In the fall, Fr. Mel moved into St. Anne’s home as his needs for care increase. I mention this for a couple reasons. 1) to ask you to pray for Fr. Mel as he enters a new community. 2) Fr. Mel enjoys having visitors and would love to see a friendly face from his parish community. If you decide to visit, be sure to check visiting hours at St. Anne’s before you go to see him. 3) Some may not be able to visit him, but would love to send him a note. Any of these options are nice way for us to stay connected to our beloved Fr. Mel. Thank you all for you love and concern for him and all our priests. I am truly grateful. If you would like to write him, send your note to:
